CHING® Golf Discs are unique in the industry; we've built upon previous spoiler technology and introduced our own Patented D.R.A.F.T.Systems for predictability and distance. Rather than a static, disruptive feature like a raised thumb track or groove around the entire disc, we've explored recessed, individual contours that dynamically respond to the speed of the spinning disc. Focused drag when & where you need it, to resist hi-speed turnover - but less so when it's time for glide.
"..There are 4 primary categories for golf discs.."
There are 4 primary categories for golf discs, each of which is generally identified by rim profile characteristics that determine relative speed and distance capability. The most influential variant in speed is the rim width. Lower speeds are generally better for short range, and higher speeds are generally better for longer range.
DISTANCE DRIVER (approximate range = 300' +)
Very sleek, sharp edged golf discs, usually with rims in the 20-26mm width range. The Distance Driver is designed for very long range shots, and may be more difficult to launch & control with consistency.
FAIRWAY DRIVER (approximate range = 200' - 400')
Round edged to sharp edged golf discs, usually with rims in the 15-20mm width range. The Fairway Driver is designed for medium to long range shots, and may be easier to launch & control with consistency.
MID RANGE (approximate range = 100' - 300')
Dull edged to round edged golf discs, usually with rims in the 10-15mm width range. The Mid Range is designed for short to medium range shots, and may be favored for accuracy to the pin.
PUTT & APPROACH (approximate range = 0' - 200')
Flat edged to dull edged golf discs, usually with rims in the 2-10mm width range. The Putt & Approach is designed for all short range shots, and may be favored for slower flights with finesse.
